The storage and operation of carved solid wood decor

These instructions will allow you to keep the products manufactured by our company in proper form. Compliance with the recommendations for storage and use of purchased products guarantees their serviceability for a long time.

For products manufacturing the company "Stavros" uses high quality dried wood with a "furniture moisture" of 8 (± 2)%, from trusted suppliers. In the production of glued products, we use the glue KLEBCHEMIE M.G. Becker GmbH & CoKG (Germany) KLEIBERIT 303.2. Bonding quality - D3. For outdoor décor we can use D4 – by request of the customer. Hydraulic clamps with a specific pressure of 6 kg / cm2 are used for gluing joinery blanks from timber lamellas. The company "Stavros" works on modern equipment, applying advanced technologies, in compliance with the standards of the furniture industry.

Wood is alive material. In dry or waterlogged air, it is characterized by drying out / expansion (swelling). Wood, depending on the relative humidity of the environment, has the property of absorbing or giving off its own moisture. In the company "Stavros" in the production and storage facilities, temperature and humidity conditions for the premises of the woodworking industry are maintained in accordance with the high standards. With the help of an automatic air humidification system a constant humidity is maintained at a level of 40-60% and a temperature from +17 to +25 degrees Celsius at the whole territory of our company. In such kind of conditions the wood retains its highest stability.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE CUSTOMERS FOR STORING THE PRODUCT BEFORE FINISHING

It is IMPORTANT to do, to save the product:

  • TO ENSURE STORAGE of products manufactured by Stavros in rooms with an air humidity of 40 - 60% and an air temperature of +17 to +25 degrees Celsius.

Dry air can lead to cracking (including the appearance of microcracks) and deformation of the wooden decor. This is especially actual in winter, when the heating season begins, and the humidity in the room can drop to 15%.

  • TO AVOID drafts / ingress of water on the surface of products / mechanical damage / storage of products near heating devices / direct sunlight on products during a long time.

To minimize the risk of damage to the finished product, if the client cannot store the product in the required temperature and humidity conditions, the product must be covered with paints and varnishes within 3 days after unpacking the product. Long-term storage without finishing is unacceptable!

It is important to know that many of the produced wooden decorative elements are rather fragile, and active mechanical impact on them (impacts, falls, bending, etc.) is unacceptable.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE OF THE DECOR (AS PART OF PAINTED FURNITURE INTERIOR STRUCTURES)

The decor is made for indoor use, and using them OUTSIDE (EXCEPT THE HOUSE THREAD) will damage the products. Household threads should be covered with protective paints and varnishes.

The environment has a large impact on the appearance and quality of furniture. Furniture products are sensitive to light, moisture, dryness, heat and cold, so it is recommended to avoid prolonged exposure to one or more of these conditions. This causes accelerated aging of the paintwork, warpage and deformation of wooden furniture elements, aging of upholstery materials.

The period during which the furniture retains its beauty and serviceability largely depends on the conditions of its operation. Follow these simple tips and you will keep your furniture looking its best. We are sure that these simple recommendations will help you in the implementation of your unique projects!

IT IS IMPORTANT TO AVOID:

  • draughts;
  • storage of products near heating devices;

Sudden changes in temperature can seriously damage the product. Furniture / product should not be located less than 1 m from a heat source. Recommended air temperature during storage and / or operation: from +17 to +25 degrees Celsius.

  • hitting furniture with hot objects (irons, dishes with boiling water, etc.) or heating radiation (light from powerful lamps, unshielded microwave radiators, etc.);
  • ingress of water on the surface of products;

Decor / furniture surfaces must remain dry.

  • direct exposure to sunlight;

Prolonged direct exposure to sunlight on some areas may change the colour compared to other areas that have been less exposed to radiation.

  • thermal, mechanical and other damage, including the fault of animals.
